It certainly makes a change from having to watch goal after goal whenever they do flashback tweets.
It’s time to give the goalkeepers some credit for once, and as a former goalkeeper myself, I say it’s about time.
Birmingham city were involved in a social media ‘chain’ yesterday as they were nominated by fellow Midlands side West Brom to showcase a great save from the club’s past, then pass it on to other clubs to do the same.
The club decided to go back to 2004 and Maik Taylor’s phenomenal double save against Manchester City in a game that we would end up drawing 0-0.
Was Maik Taylor our best goalkeeper since the year 2000?
Yes
No
Whilst it wasn’t his best goalkeeping display whilst with the club, that coming in his heroic efforts during our 1-0 loss to Arsenal in 2005, it was very impressive stuff and certainly deserved the credit that came his way from Bluenoses in the aftermath.
Forgot how mental this save was, thought you were going to use Kuszczak vs Derby

I was living in Sydney at the time and watched the highlights of that match with my Brazilian flatmate, whenever we went out after that he would tell everyone that Birmingham have the best keeper in the world

Although I think this one save was arguably better than any one that he pulled off that day.
