Birmingham City have today announced that former shot stopper Adam Legzdins has signed a two year contract with the option of a further year which is in the clubs favour.

As mentioned in a previous article on the site, Blues have been interested in Legzdins since his release from Leyton Orient earlier this month and now he has become the second signing for Gary Rowett in as many days following the arrival of former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Jacques Maghoma.

Legzdins came through the academy at Birmingham so he knows the club well and that is thought to be one of the main factors in his return to the West Midlands club. After the release of both Colin Doyle and Darren Randolph, who have joined Blackpool and West Ham United since, the arrival of the 28 year old is of some relief with the only goalkeeper left on the books at the club was the vastly inexperienced Nick Townsend.

Despite the announcement of the signing, some fans are still hoping that Rowett is looking for another shot stopper as two goalkeepers for the season seems a bit short.

More signings are expected in the next week to ten days it is believed and with the manager back from his family holiday, the recruitment process has certainly stepped up a gear.
