A Vile Cup Draw

Oh dear god? Vile away!

The cup draw has already captured the imagination of the second City and the tie is still a month away. Whilst I am looking forward to a trip to the dark side, we need to keep our excitement in check.

It is easy to get carried away and forget that we have 43 league games on the horizon. One comment I read from a Blues fan on Twitter suggested that all other games now become insignificant. What a load of rubbish.

And how very nice of Mr. Collymore to try and stir things up. It is still unclear whether Stan will be at Villa Park or Cannock Chase on the evening of the tie.

All of the pressure will be on Villa. The home side, the Premier League (somehow) side. Emotions will be het-up and the atmosphere will be hostile. Let`s hope history repeats itself? remember the last time the two sides met in the cup?

By all accounts, the filth were very fortunate to worm their way into the hat after a dodgy penalty decision got them back in the game against Notts County last night. Football is a game of fine margins and I expect no less in the third round.

Back to Mr. Collymore, who tweeted ‘the city is, and always will be, ours`. Let`s give Stan a history lesson, we know the Village people like history. Aston Villa were formed in Handsworth, which at the time was NOT part of Birmingham. In 1911, Handsworth became a district of Birmingham, meaning Vile were classed as a Birmingham club. End of story.

Right, that is enough about the cup now, we have to concentrate on MK Dons, Bristol City, Nottingham Forest and Ipswich Town. Then, you know who.
