A Tall Order: Newcastle Visit St Andrews

Birmingham City take on Newcastle United this Saturday at St Andrews and it goes without saying, the team will be right up against it. In a bid to conjure some positivity about the place, another gritty performance similar to the one against Wolves, would ease nerves on the terraces.

Blues lie in 17th place and have lost some 40% of their last 20 home games. Zola has lost four of the last six at home, conceding 9 in the process.

Newcastle by contrast sit in 1st place and have won 4 of their last 6 away from home. It is safe to say, going to another team’s ground and picking up the points does not phase Rafael Benítez’s men. Newcastle have scored 10 in their last six games away from home.

Blues will need to keep their shape, make it aggressive and be very disciplined if they are going to have any chance of taking some points from this game. Benítez is a renowned tactician and Newcastle will certainly have a plan for our possession based strategy.

What I am keen to know is, just what you think the result will be on Saturday? Are we set for another loss or could Newcastle be in for a shock?

My prediction (hoping I am wrong), Birmingham 0-2 Newcastle.
