A Plea For Calm, From Grief Stricken Sister

The last time Birmingham City locked horns with Aston Villa, a young fan lost his life within the controversy.

Lee Mockble, 21, was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison after running down Christopher Priest with his car. One can draw their own conclusions about why and how this happened.

The court understood that Lee Mockle’s car was damaged after he was mistaken for a Birmingham fan by a group of villa fans and the events escalated from there.

In the week that will no doubt bring back torrid memories for the Priest family, the family have asked for something more than reasonable from both sides; please don’t cause any other people to lose their lives for their club.

Despite both the parties involved belonging to the same side, the situation came about under the illusion of one being a blue.

She said: “It is the responsibility of both Villa fans and Blues fans to make sure that there is no repeat of what happened last year.

“If it wasn`t for Lee Mockble, my brother would still be with us today and he would be watching his favourite team.

“Supporters must think about their actions, no matter how strong the rivalry is.

“Ultimately, this is just a football match and there should be no violence no matter which team you support or what the result is.

“No family should have to go through the torture we have been through over the last 18 months.”
