Garry Monk has told reporters at this afternoon’s pre-match press conference that he is in it for the duration despite the club’s difficult summer.
A few supporters were concerned that the lack of transparency from the owners over the transfer embargo may have led to the manager questioning his future.
However, Monk left fans in no doubt with his comments today:
'My job – the way I am looking at it – is to lead these players, the staff, the Club and fans through any adversity we might face. I will do that' – Garry Monk #BCFC

Fans were delighted to see the head coach’s commitment:
Excellent … glad he’s in for the duration

Doesn’t he just ooze positivity. He massively gets the blues. Such a pity we can’t give him the financial backing he deserves.

Hopefully it will all fall into place one day. Be interesting to see what he could do with backing. I’m just enjoying the positivity from him. #KRO

Some were wishing the manager had joined the club much earlier:
Shame he wasn’t here 12 months ago. It’s not the financial backing we’re lacking, it’s the ability to spend it until we’ve released others

It’s great to hear Monk being so positive despite the obvious challenges that he has been facing over the last few weeks. He has been left with a squad in need of strengthening, and while he will now be able to bring bodies in, the players he will be going after will be very different to the ones he was planning at the end of last season. The manager continues to be a breath of fresh air compared to his predecessors in the job.
