£2.75m Swoop Backed – 74% of Birmingham Fans Polled Want Club To Recruit Polish Star

|

Sky Sports are reporting that the club are working hard to get their transfer embargo lifted by the EFL. The TV network reports that the ban on transfers is “temporary” and it suggests the club are “hopeful” of having it lifted.

It would explain reports from Suffolk that we have had a £2.75m bid for a goalkeeper rejected in recent days. The East Anglian Times reported on Monday that Ipswich had turned down an offer from us for Bartosz Bialkowski.

It seems we are still pursuing targets despite the embargo being in place. After the news came out about the bid, I gauged fan opinion about whether the Polish international is a good choice by Garry Monk. Three-quarters of you believe we should be pursuing him:

It is believed that Ipswich are very keen to keep the 31-year-old, but with the keeper having just one year left on his contract, they are looking at possible replacements, which gives us hope that a transfer could be agreed for the Pole.

Of course, a lot depends on when or if the reported embargo is lifted before the end of the transfer window. Let me know your thoughts about our bid for Bialkowski.
