18 goals and 11 assists – Should Birmingham Go After 24 Year Old Midfield Talent?

|

It’s something that I believe is just as important as bringing in a new striker, but so far it seems strange that we haven’t been linked with more creative midfielders.

Hibernian’s John McGinn and ex Norwich star Wes Hoolahan have been the only two central/attacking midfield players who have been talked of as potential targets for Garry Monk.

With that in mind, I thought I would put another name into the hat who could really make a difference in helping us score more goals. Blackburn Rovers midfielder Bradley Dack had an excellent season last campaign.

He scored 18 goals and provided 11 assists in all competitions and was named League One’s player of the season for his performances.

At 24 years of age, he also hasn’t hit his peak yet, which suggests to me that he could be an excellent addition. He will no doubt cost a fair amount, but after offering £5m for Lewis Grabban, the club seem to be prepared to spend.

You could argue that a striker should be a priority over a central midfielder, and there is definitely a case to be made for that, but Dack’s goal record and his high number of assists could kill two birds with one stone.

Of course, there is a reported embargo to consider, but if we are able to make moves for players, the Blackburn star should be a target. What do you think? Let me know in the poll:
